1380806_profile_picDouglas V. Guilliam, 70, of Ligonier, Ind., passed away Friday morning, Aug. 22, 2014, at Avalon Village where he had been a resident since 2010.

He was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Columbus, Ga., to Roger and Helen (Sheley) Guilliam. On Dec. 4, 1971, he married Rebecca Charlton at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church in Goshen, Ind. She preceded him in death. 

A long time area resident, Mr. Guilliam was a Goshen High School graduate and active in the 4-H Lamb Club and Goshen American Legion. He also served on the Jefferson Township advisory board, fire department and EMS, and Rock Run cemetery board. He worked at NIPSCO for 32 years and was a member at Jefferson Community Church.

He is survived by his mother; a daughter: Susie (Dallas) Carroll, of Bristol, Ind.; a son: Rodney Guilliam, Goshen; three grandchildren; and a step-brother: Mark (Helen) Kornblum, of St. Louis, Mo.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home with pastor John Billow officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Run cemetery, Goshen.
