James K. ‘Jim’ Elder, 52, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, in his residence. 

He was born Feb. 1, 1962, in Columbia City, Ind., to  James O. and Grace (Ousley) Elder. On Dec. 28, 1990, he married Dianna “DeeDee” Prater. 

Jim was a self-employed construction worker. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing and trapping. He had made several trips to Canada and Lake Erie to go fishing.

He is survived by his wife: Dianna “DeeDee” Elder, Warsaw; two sons: Steven (Sondra) Elder, Pierceton, Ind.; and Lucas Elder, Warsaw; his father: James O. Elder, Warsaw; one brother: Kenneth (Rita) Elder, Pierceton; and one sister: Lora (Mark) Anglin, Warsaw,

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Highway 13 Free United Baptist Church, Sidney, Ind. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in the church with Carl Adams officiating.
