Roy Max Brown, 75, of Claypool, Ind., passed away at 12:47 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Roy was born on Nov. 22, 1938, in Miami County, Ind., to Robert E. Brown and Grace (Garner) Brown. On Jan. 22, 1967, he was married to Deloris ‘Dee’ Kay (Myers) Brown, who survives in Claypool.
He attended high school in Rochester, Ind., then he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving for 2 years until his honorable discharge on April 26, 1966. He worked for Chrysler Corp in Kokomo, Ind., as a truck driver until his retirement in 1994. Roy spent his winters in Florida for the last 16 years and has been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 20 years. He enjoyed wood working, his grandchildren and his neighbors.
He is survived by his son: Kevin (Jennifer) Brown, Noblesville, Ind.; and two grandchildren: Max and Abbey Brown, Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Kent S. Brown; six brothers; and two sisters.
No visitation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at his home at 5542 Swan Court, Claypool, to celebrate his life with family and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw, Ind.
