Floyd W. Rule Jr.ral ChapeMYÓu‰0zFloyd Rule Jr., 91, of Mentone, Ind., passed at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital Emergency Room unexpectedly.

He was born on May 2, 1923, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Floyd W. and Hazel (Hollar) Rule. On June 25, 1949, in Warsaw, Ind., at his parent’s home, he was married to Bernice Klingel, who survives.

He worked for Frank’s Manufacturing as a handyman and a welder for 30 years.
Memberships: He graduated in 1943 from the Indiana School for the Deaf of Indianapolis. He was involved with the Deaf Senior Citizens Club of Mishawaka for many years. He was a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church since 1988. He was known for his wonderful and friendly smile. Floyd enjoyed going to restaurants.

He is survived by his wife; a niece: Cindy (Otis) Goodnight, LaFountaine, Ind.;  brother-in-law: Glenn Haney, Lake Alfred, Fla.; aunt: Donnabelle Rule, Winona Lake, Ind.; and close friend and interpreter: Pat Lancet, Argos, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Carol Haney; and a nephew: Kim Haney.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the funeral home with pastor Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will take place in Stony Point, Leesburg, Ind.
