James H. Slone, 42, passed away in his home on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, in Pierceton, Ind.
On Jan. 13, 1972, James was born to Harry D. and Virginia Kay (Meadows) Slone in Oberlin, Ohio. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
James worked at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Ind., in the housekeeping department and was caregiver for many residents. He was an animal lover and an avid electronic hobbyist.
He is survived by his mother: Kay Slone, and her companion, Gene Coverstone, Pierceton, Ind.; his sister: Anita (Jason) Sheneman, Claypool, Ind.; his brother: Matthew (Abigail) Slone, Pierceton; his nephew: Anthony Sheneman, Claypool, Ind.; his niece: Brittnee Sheneman, Pierceton; and a grand niece: Dena Marie Shelton, Pierceton.
He was preceded in death by his father: Harry Slone.
Visitation hours will from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
