INDIANAPOLIS – Caroline Buhr of Penn has been selected as an Indiana All-Star.
Buhr, a 6-1 forward, was one of 13 seniors tabbed for the 2014 IndyStar.com Indiana Girls All-Star team.
Buhr was the top scorer for the Kingsmen this past season at 11.2 points-per-game. She helped lead coach Kristi Kaniewski Ulrich’s team to a 25-2 mark and a Class 4-A state runner-up finish.
Buhr has signed to continue her playing career at San Diego.
The All-Star team will be led by Miss Basketball Whitney Jennings. The Logansport senior guard averaged 32 points-per-game her senior season and will play at Iowa.
Also named to the All-Star team were Maura Muensterman (Evansville Mater Dei), Alex Hochstetler (Fishers), Lauren Whitlash (Bloomington South), Syndey Bush (Homestead), Destiny Washington (Lawrence North), Tayler Goodall (Columbus North), Kayla Brown (Westfield), Danielle Cuttino (Ben Davis), Ana Owens (Lawrence North), Kindell Fincher (Fort Wayne Canterbury) and Erica Moore (Mt. Vernon Fortville).
Muensterman, the runner-up for Miss Basketball, will play at Indiana. Cuttino and Moore are bound for Purdue, while Buck is headed to Butler.
Eric Thornton of Norwell, a former boys assistant coach at Warsaw and girls assistant coach at Plymouth, will coach the All-Star team.
The All-Star team will play four games in June, including a pair versus the Indiana Junior All-Stars and then the annual two-game set versus the Kentucky All-Star team.
