William “Bill” Frederick Kain, 72, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County where he was a 1959 graduate of Warsaw High School. He entered the U.S. Army in 1959 and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1970. Bill worked at Clausings as a machinist. He then worked at Andersen Windows until he was employed by Othy Inc. of Warsaw as a machinist retiring in 1998. Bill enjoyed fishing, bowling and driving stock cars.
He was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to the late Ray Eugene Kain and Evelyn (Wagner) Kain, who survives in Warsaw. On June 21, 2005, in Warsaw he was married to Vickie Sue (Busenburg) Kain, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons: John (Denise) Cochran, Warsaw; Ed (Betty) Cochran, Warsaw; David (Jessica) Dittman, Kirkland, Ind.; five daughters: Linda (Larry) Thomas, Whitehouse, Tenn.; Patty (Cary) Bellis, New Haven, Ind.; Bobbi (Wade) Starkey, Pierceton, Ind.; Angel (Jesse) Harter, Tallahassee, Fla.; Misty Valdez, Warsaw; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Tom (Pat) Sturgis, Ohio; Norman (Sally) Kain, Bluffton, Ind.; Kenney (Mel) Kain, Bluffton; Ted (Cindy) Sturgis, Evansville, Ind.; and two sisters: Sandy (Robert) Denton, Warsaw; and Linda (Robert) Williams, Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and his daughter.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Ken Locke. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion Post #49, the VFW #1126 both of Warsaw, and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw at a later date.
