HeadshotKaren Ann Leigh, 55, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her home.

She was born July 3, 1959, in Webster, Mass., to Francis Robert and Jane (Gevry) Leigh.

She attended Tantasqua High School in Sturbridge, Mass., Kaplin University and moved to the Syracuse, Ind., area in 1993 from Massachusetts. She formerly worked at Pizza King, Family Dollar, and Freedom Express all in North Webster, Ind.

She grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Massachusetts and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Warsaw.

Karen is survived by a daughter: Kristina (Dan) White, North Webster, Ind.; two grandchildren: Madison Espinoza and Noxx White; her mother: Jane Leigh, Leesburg, Ind.; two sisters: Roxane Leaming, Leesburg; and Roberta (Adam) Kline, North Webster; and two brothers: Keith Leigh, Leesburg; and Kevin (Debra) Leigh, Atwood, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home with Bishop Jeff Walters of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
