Alice WallaceAlice Joan Wallace, 75, of Bremen, Ind., passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

Alice was born May 27, 1939, to Jacob and Violet (Walters) Klinefelter of Etna Green, Ind. Alice was a resident the Bremen area for the past 23 years and lived previously in South Bend, Ind.

Alice married her beloved husband, Merlin Wallace, on July 28, 1957.

Alice was employed by GMAC, Bendix and the U.S. Postal Service in South Bend; Bourbon, Ind.; North Liberty, Ind.; and Nappanee, Ind. Alice served as postmaster of the Bourbon Post Office in the latter stages of her career. Alice was very much loved by her family and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter: Susan Jennifer (Timothy) Gorski, South Bend; three sons: Thomas Edward (Katherine) Wallace, Charlotte, N.C.; James William Wallace, Plymouth, Ind.; and Michael John (Amber) Wallace, South Bend, Ind.; along with five grandchildren: Sarah, Andrew, Amanda, Matthew, Caramia; and one half-brother: Jack (Marilyn) Klinefelter, Winona Lake, Ind.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband: Merlin; her eldest daughter: Rana Lee; her brother: Lowell Klinefelter; and her two half-brothers: Rex and Robert Burnett.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, Ind. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in the Etna Green United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Lampton of the Etna Green United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in the Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, Ind.

The family requests memorial contributions in her memory to The Leukemia or Lymphoma Society.
