TVS Hosts Suicide Awareness, Prevention Presentation
The Tippecanoe Valley Community Mental Health Task Force will host a Community Presentation on Suicide Awareness & Prevention in the Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Commons from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.
The evening will feature a presentation by Huntter Randall of The Bowen Center for Human Services. Participants will learn how to identify the warning signs, clues and communications of individuals considering suicide; how to question the person thinking about suicide; how to persuade them to get help; and, how to refer the individual to the appropriate resource for help.
The following community resource agencies have agreed to be present and available to speak to participants before and after the presentation: Bowen Center for Human Services, Four County Counseling Center, Life Touch Ministries & Counseling Center, McArthur Counseling Center, Mental Health America and Michiana Behavioral Health Center.
Childcare will be available for parents and guardians with young children. Light snacks will be served.
The Community Presentation on Suicide Awareness & Prevention is open to patrons of the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. It is also open to out-of-school-corporation individuals interested in learning more about suicide awareness and prevention.
