Vaughn D. Zellers Sr., 73, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
On Oct. 5, 1940, he was born in Logansport, Ind., to Vaughn Donald and Mary M. (Simons) Zellers. He was united in marriage to Linda Watts on Sept. 16, 1959, in Logansport, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2014.
He moved to the Warsaw area from Logansport in 1970. He had worked as a machinist for Union Tool and Zimmer Inc.
Vaughn enjoyed playing the piano, reading and gardening. Vaughn also was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve.
Vaughn is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Dale) Hileman, Akron, Ind.; and Becky Zellers-Keefer, North Webster, Ind.; four sons: Tim (Donna) Zellers, Elkhart, Ind.; Brian (Kim) Zellers, Warsaw; Vaughn Dean “Charlie’ (Megan) Zellers Jr., Marietta, Ga.; and Donny Zellers, Leesburg, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter: June Ann Zellers; his parents; and his brother: Joe Zellers.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at First Brethren Church, Warsaw.
