Ione Lou Rambo, 80, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw, Ind.
She was a 1952 graduate of LaPorte High School, LaPorte, Ind., and she received her BA in Sociology in 1956 as graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky. She worked as a waitress in Kentucky and was a homemaker.
Ione was also a member of the Women’s Society of the Methodist Church, and attended the Church of God Ministries in Kentucky.
She was born March 23, 1934, in LaPorte to George Lyndon Bell and Halo Bernice (Littleton) Bell. On Aug. 7, 1982, she was married to Robert Monroe Rambo, who survives in Warsaw.
She is also survived by two sons: Lyndon Alexander, Henrysville, Ind.; Ronald Alexander, Henderson, Ky.; three daughters: Carolyn Harrell, Mountain City, Texas; Belinda Mann, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Lisa Soares, Indianapolis, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister: Patsy McDonald, Castle Rock, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
A graveside service will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte at noon Thursday, Aug. 7, and officiated by Bob Marshall.
