Henderson, DavidDavid L. Henderson, 77, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, in his home.

He was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Warsaw to George A. and Ruby M. (Bolt) Henderson. He was a 1954 graduate of Warsaw High School and attended Tri State College. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw.

On Sept. 14, 1958, he married Maria Aranguren in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw.

David entered the United States Army on Oct. 8, 1954, and served as a cryptographer with The Army Security Agency in the Far East for 2½ years during the Korean War Era.  Sp3 David Lee Henderson was honorable discharged Sept. 23, 1957. He was also the owner and operator of Wolford Dry Cleaners for 25 years, retiring in 2000.

David was a member of Warsaw American Legion Post #49, Warsaw Bowling Hall of Fame, a life member of the National Rifle Association and past member of the Moose Lodge and Lions Club. In his retirement, he and Maria enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter: Rebecca (Scott) Struven, Farmington Hills, Mich.; two sons: Vincent (Junko) Henderson, Warsaw; and Dr. Christopher (Patricia) Henderson, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren: Genevieve and Ella Henderson, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Maria and Erika Henderson, Warsaw; and a sister: Linda Secor, Louisville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Maria Henderson; and a brother: Robert Henderson.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. Burial is to be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
