Moore, JosephineJosephine Moore, 85, of Columbia City, Ind., formerly of North Manchester, Ind., passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 17, 1928 to Belva and Crow Nelson in Blue River KY. She was the oldest daughter of 10 children. Sixty-eight years ago, on July 4, 1946, she met her loving husband, Ray Moore.

Jo and Ray were married on April 26, 1947 celebrating 67 years of marriage. Jo retired after 26 years of service from Controls Corp. in North Manchester. She loved bluegrass music and was a dedicated supporter of her family’s musical hobby. Ray and Jo camped and enjoyed bluegrass festivals for over 40 years. The last 20 years there wintered in Florida. They truly enjoyed being with all their friends and family and making new friends along the way. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Zolfo Springs, FL.

Surviving are her loving husband: Ray, of Columbia City; sons: Roger (Peggy) Moore of Indianapolis, Ed (Pat) Moore of Urbana, Ind.; daughter: Crystal (Dave) Anderson of Columbia City: daughter-in-law: Karen Moore of Pierceton, Ind. Grandsons: Travis (Brooke)  Moore of Huntington, Ind., Greg (Deena) Moore of Reedsville, Penn., Andrew Moore of Urbana, Don Beatty of Urbana, Dave Davidson of Indianapolis. Granddaughters: Brooke (Eric) Beck of Pierceton, Jessica Moore of Pierceton, Karen Davidson of Indianapolis. Great grandchildren: Haylee Moore and Breanna Moore of Huntington, Logan Moore of Wabash, Ind., Shania Davidson of Indianapolis, Seth Davidson of Indianapolis, Sidney Beatty of Urbana.

Also surviving are her brother, Crow (Sue) Nelson Jr. of Huntington, sisters, Ethel (Jeff) Hill of Muncie, In., Dorsey (Elmer) Shepherd of Prestonsburg, Ky. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Moore, her mother, father, one brother and five sisters.

Family and friends may call Monday, July 14, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, Pastor J. P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.
