Powell, VirginiaVirginia M. “Ginger” Powell, 87, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, Indiana.

Virginia was born in Atwood on May 23, 1927. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1945, and Jack Nelson Powell on April 18, 1948. The two shared 66 years of marriage.

A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Virginia and her husband owned and operated the Clunette General Store for many years after which she was employed by Peoples State Bank in Leesburg for 40 years before retiring in 2000.

Virginia was a member of the Clunette United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge. She Loved playing bingo and was a regular fixture at many games around Warsaw, enjoyed knitting baby afghans and has made approximately 100 since retiring.

Preceding Virgina in death is her parents; brother: Ned Smith, and two sisters: Margaret Williamson and June Longerbaugh.

Surviving her is her husband, Jack, Leesburg; two sons: Douglas (Deborah) Powell, Warsaw, and Michael (Joan) Powell, Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren: Andy (Kate) Powell, Cincinnati, Kevin (Melanie) Powell, Jasper, and Kate (Justin) Hickey, Columbus, Ohio; six great grandchildren; and her brother, Jerry Smith of Warsaw.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw. Memorial services will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 am at Titus Funeral Home, Pastor Denny Bollenbacher, New Beginnings Community Church, presiding.
