John Danilson, 89, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at his residence.
He graduated from Chelan High School in Chelan, Wash., in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving during WWII and honorably discharged in 1945. John attended George Washington University taking journalism, then transferring to the University of Missouri where he continued his journalism studies and graduated.
He worked as a journalist is Abilene, Texas; and Seattle, Wash., for a number of years, and he was an editor and writer for many years for the Union Gospel Press in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1960 he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated in 1964. He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 38 years where he was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw, and for the past 50 years he worked in many ministry positions.
He was born on May 7, 1925, Manson, Wash., to James Garfield Danilson and Evalina (Moses) Danilson. On June 29, 1956, he was married to June (Wymer) Danilson, who survives in Warsaw.
John is also survived by his daughter: Ruth Romeo, Warsaw, Ind.; and two grandchildren: Lindsay Romeo and Drew Romeo, both of South Bend, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Mark Danilson; a daughter: Judy Danilson; three sisters and two brothers.
No visitation or services are planned. A private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.
