Ferguson, EdithEdith Disler Ferguson, 102, North Manchester, Ind., formerly of North Carolina, passed away at 7:23 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born May 3, 1912, in Memphis, Tenn., to Enos and Caroline (Simons) Disler. She graduated from Tiffin High School, Tiffin, Ohio, in 1930.

On Nov. 15, 1941, she married Elmer Speck. He died May 23, 1970. She then married Lowery Ferguson on March 28, 1981. He died April 29, 1993.

Edith was a secretary for World Methodist Council, Lake Junaluska, N.C., and retired in 1979. She was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church, North Manchester, Ind., and former member of Timbercrest Choir, United Methodist Choir and United Methodist Saints Alive Choir.

She is survived by one step son: David Speck, Pennsylvania; two step daughters: Dorothy (Keith) Stahl, Bonnieville, Ky.; and Jane (Alna) Ferguson-Hyatt, Waynesville, S.C.; one sister: Beatrice Welker, North Manchester; one nephew: Keith Disler, Huntington, Ind.; and two nieces: Janice Disler, Huntington, Ind.; and Deb (Ron) Schenkel, Urbana, Ind.; and many great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by two step sons: Donald Speck and Lowery Ferguson Jr.; and three brothers: Elliott Disler, Harold Disler and Melville Disler. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East St., North Manchester. A memorial service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Larry Ray to officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington, Ind.
