She was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Silver Lake, Ind., to Ammon and Mary Young Bucher. She had a distinguished career with 41 years of loyal service with General Electric Company retiring in 1985. She also was a beautician in North Manchester, Ind., and Ft. Wayne.
Maradean graduated from Akron High School in the 1930s and had been a member of the Indiana Cosmetology Association since 1939.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Matilda Doub and Helen Cross; and half brothers: Merle and Harley Bucher.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Akron Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Craig officiating.
