Leona G. “Oney” Denney, 86, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in her daughter’s residence in Silver Lake, Ind.

She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Kosciusko County. She graduated from Leesburg High School. Leona and Norman L. Denney married on Nov. 27, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She worked at Dalton Foundry for 25 years, retiring Aug. 1, 1987, from the core room.

Leona is survived by her son: Randy (Sally) Denney, Warsaw, Ind.; two daughters: Linda (Johnny) Jude, Warsaw; and Rhonda (Ron) Gronau, Silver Lake; six grandchildren: Shelley (Matt) Boruff, Kokomo, Ind.; Tonya (Dale) Arter, Warsaw; Nicholas (Brittany) Denney, Silver Lake; Timothy Denney, Warsaw; Brandy (Parwaiz) Nur, Saline, Mich.; Sara (Homayun) Nur, Evans, Ga.; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Norman L. Denney; her sister: Bonnie Hippensteel; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Services will be follow at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Gene Correll, her brother-in-law, presiding.
