Emergency personnel responded to a vehicle accident located on 600 South near 50 West in Claypool at 1:48 p.m. today.

According to Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, the accident involved a United States Postal Service van, driven by Joseph Fierek, 45, of Leesburg, and car, driven by Brittany Poe, 25, of Warsaw. Fierek reportedly pulled out of a driveway and collided head-on with Poe, who was eastbound on 600 south.

Fierek sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Poe reportedly suffered from a knee injury. Two infants in Poe’s vehicle were unharmed in the crash.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Claypool Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS responded to the accident.
