1332967_profile_picPamela Sue Peffley, 48, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 6:28 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2014, at Elkhart General Hospital after a 9-month battle with cancer.

She was born June 11, 1966, in Elkhart.

Pamela graduated from NorthWood High School in 1984 and attended Indiana University in South Bend. She married Harry “Tony” Peffley on Nov. 16, 1996, at Buelah Missionary Church in Elkhart.

Pamela worked at NorthWood High School as a Special Education para professional.  he enjoyed helping the athletic department as a ticket taker for many sporting events. She was a member of Goshen First United Methodist Church at the Life Center and the Indiana Teacher Association. 

Pamela always had a smile on her face and stayed strong through the many hardships she went through.

Surviving is her husband: Harry “Tony’ Peffley; a daughter: Amanda Renee Peffley, at home; step children: Anthony Joseph (Stefanie) Peffley, Thomas Michael Peffley and Alisa Kay Peffley, all of Elkhart, Ind.; five grandchildren; her parents: Mary Ann (Dennis) Taylor, Wakarusa, Ind.; and Dave (Beth) Nusbaum, Elkhart; stepbrothers: Mike Taylor, California; Tim Taylor, Oklahoma; and her cat: Butkus (a.k.a. The Cancer Cat).

Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15. Pastor Ed Fritz will officiate. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
