Lucile Elizabeth Worboys Bruce, 90, of Englewood, Colo., passed away at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, in her residence.
On Nov. 9, 1923, she was born in North Chili, N.Y., to Wilbur George and Clara Elizabeth (Harmon) Worboys. She was united in marriage to William Benjamin Bruce on Oct. 9, 1943, in Buffalo, N.Y. He preceded her in death.
Through the years, Lucile lived in various places, including New York, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia and Colorado. She was employed and involved as an administrative assistant with Free Methodist Headquarters, when it was in Winona Lake, Ind.
She spent many years as a pastor’s wife and loved entertaining. Lucile gave much of her time devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She always loved singing in her church choirs.
Lucile is survived by a daughter: Rebecca (David) Smith, Marietta, Ga.; a son: Craig (Beth) Bruce, Peru, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, in the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, at the funeral home with Reverend John Van Valin officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
