Daniel List, 56, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away May 25, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born Dec. 21, 1957, in Greenfield, Mass., to Thomas and Betty (Lauterbach) List. On Aug. 8, 1980, he married Stacy Rogers, who preceded him in 2009.

He was a self employed carpenter and lived in the Syracuse / Wawasee area most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, hunting and all outdoor activities. He was a member of the North Webster American Legion, E CLAMPUS VITAS, Syracuse Eagles, as well as the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation.

He was a compassionate brother, friend and uncle.

Dan is survived by five brothers: Tom (Suzanne Statler) List, Port Costa, Calif.; Pat (Candy) List, Hayesville, N.C.; Bob (Ida) List, Leesburg, Ind.; Bill (Mary) List, Port Costa, Calif.; and Adam (Liz) List, North Webster, Ind.; a sister: Betsy (Mike) Hoffman, North Webster; and many nieces and nephews.

A social gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the North Webster American Legion pavilion. A celebration of Dan’s life will follow at 5:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Wild Turkey Federation or the WACF.
