Warner, Arden obit photoArden D. Warner, 96, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 1:40 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw, Ind.

He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., where he was a graduate of Sidney High School. He attended Warsaw Wesleyan Church, was a member of the Silver Lake Lions Club, and was a farmer of grain and livestock.

Arden was on the board of directors for Kosciusko REMC from March 1963 to December 1976 and was board president from March 1965 to December 1976. In January 1977 he became the manager/CEO of REMC in Warsaw retiring in December 1982. He was also a past president of the Warsaw School Board.

He was born Jan. 9, 1918, in North Manchester, Ind., to Glen B. Warner and Marie (Ulrey) Warner. On Sept. 15, 1940, he was married to Dorcas Walther, who preceded him in death in 1977. He remarried on July 21, 1979, to P. Geraldine (Tucker) Parker, who survives in Winona Lake.

He is also survived by his two daughters: Ann Rudig, Lombard, Ill.; Sue (Randy) Wagner, Peekskill, N.Y.; one step-daughter: Paulette (Alan) Holsinger, The Villages, Fla.; two step-sons: Terry K. Parker, Silver Lake, Ind.; Lynn Parker, Silver Lake; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, at the funeral home. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake, Ind.
