Virgil “Dee” Wagner, 76, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, in his residence.
On March 15, 1938, he was born to Ines Hatfield in Kosciusko County, Ind. On Nov. 11, 1976, in Warsaw he married Juanita Hall Sanchez, who survives.
He was co-owner of Bouse’s Barber Shop in the 1960’s. In 1995 he retired from DePuy after 29 years in the shipping department as a material handler. He then opened Dee’s Barber Shop in Leesburg, Ind.
He was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge and Sons of the American Legion Post #49, both of Warsaw. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, mushroom hunting and fishing. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife: Juanita Wagner, Warsaw; two daughters: Shelly (Scott) Shaw, Walkerton, Ind.; Sandy (Rodger) Townsend, Kearny, Neb.; stepsons: Jeffrey Sanchez, Stephen (Cindy) Sanchez and Chris (Shanda) Sanchez; grandchildren: Phillip (Staci) Robinson, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Alex Sanchez and Mercedes Sanchez, both of Warsaw.
Virgil was preceded in death by his son: Chris Wagner; and two brothers: Kenny and Keith Wagner.
There will be a dinner and celebration of life at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at at the Warsaw Moose Lodge. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Muncie, Ind., at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29.
