Lois E. James, 69, North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, Ind.
She was born May 19, 1944, in Wabash County, Ind., to Laymond Lee and Gladys (Perry) Clark. She was a 1962 graduate of Laketon High School, Laketon, Ind. On Sept. 17, 1963, she married William A. James. He preceded her in death.
Lois was a homemaker and servant for the Lord. She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, Liberty Mills, Ind.
She is survived by one son: Frederick A. (Tina) James, Pierceton, Ind.; four daughters: Deborah (Terry) Barrett, Liberty Mills, Ind.; Diana Wood, North Manchester; Lori (James) Conley, Liberty Mills; and Lisa (Robert) Haupert, North Manchester; five sisters: Nanci Lou (Arthur) Moyers, Burlington, Iowa; Catherine Bettencourt, Wabash, Ind.; Miriam Linkenhoker, Ijamsville, Ind.; Mary Ann Coe, Wabash; and Laura Bradley, Ijamsville; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and one step-son.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan.17, at the funeral home. Pastor Kelly Beutler and Pastor Erin Huiras will officiate. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, Ind.
