Vivian G. Reiff, 100, North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.  

She was born Aug. 21, 1913, in Liberty Mills, Ind., to Russell and Maude (Auker) Abbott. She graduated in 1931 from Chester High School, North Manchester. She then attended the Fort Wayne Beauty School and graduated in 1934. 

On Oct. 26, 1935, she married Van E. Reiff in the United Brethren Parsonage in Laketon, Ind. He died May 25, 1999.

She was the owner of Vivi-Deane Beauty Shop in Liberty Mills from 1935-1969. She was then manager of the Squire Shop for the next 8 years. In 1978 she began working at Chartwells at Manchester College, and was employed there until she retired in 2002.

Vivian was actively involved with the Good News Club Children’s Ministry and was member of of Manchester Bible Church, North Manchester.

She is survived by one son: Steve (Sharon) Reiff, Converse, Ind.; one sister: Betty Boardman, North Manchester; and three grandchildren: Lauren (Adam) Roth, Knoxville, Tenn.; Derek Reiff, Seattle, Wash.; and Kristin (Jacob) Rider, Beauford, S.C.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the funeral home. Pastor Matthew Staton and Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, Ind.
