Ernestine Louise Sagarsee Harvey, 82, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 6:14 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, in her residence surrounded by family and friends, due to complications from a stroke.
On Aug. 6, 1931, she was born in Kokomo, Ind., to John and Thelma (Bradshaw) Sagarsee. She was united in marriage to Dwaine Richey on Feb. 3, 1951, in Sharpsville, Ind., who survives. She then was united in marriage to Dick Harvey in the summer of 1990 in Somerset, Ind., who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1991.
A resident of the Kokomo and Warsaw areas, Ernestine was a homemaker who also worked in retail and bookkeeping. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Warsaw Singles Club. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, sewing and had a love of life and people.
She is survived by five children: Randy (Virginia) Richey, Sharpsville, Ind.; Mike (Peggy) Richey, Morgantown; Patsy (Steve) Bowers, Talmoon, Minn.; Cheryl (Dan) Wyatt, Warsaw; Jim (Ellen) Richey, Russiaville; three sisters: Violet Radabaugh, Kokomo; Roberta (Leroy) Colter, Kokomo; and Mildred Tow, Jupiter, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Ernestine was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Lewis, John, Claude and Donald Sagarsee.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Reverend Roy Blake officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
