grace_kelly V1 4990MUNCIE, IN – “Her voice is sweet and soulful, bridging the vocal traditions of jazz and pop music in an authentic, original way. Her sensitivity, control and focus as an alto saxophonist is impressive… Grace is following her heart and that path is sure to lead her on a great adventure that all listeners, lucky enough to discover her, will relish,” says Ann Hampton Callaway, multiplatinum-selling singer, composer and lyricist. Grace Kelly Quintet will be performing at Pruis Hall on the Ball State University Campus in Muncie at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16.

Grace Kelly is a saxophonist, singer/songwriter, and composer/arranger from Brookline, Mass. Having studied saxophone since the age of 10, she is rapidly making her way up in the jazz music world. Grace’s talents far outstrip others her age. Only 21 years old, Grace has already recorded and performed with many notable musicians including Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Dave Brubeck, Hank Jones, Wynton Marsalis and others.

Grace appeared as special guest artist for two nights with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops 2007 Jazz Series. One of the selections Grace performed was her award-winning composition “Every Road I Walked” which she arranged for the entire Pops orchestra, her first arrangement for an orchestra and strings. Grace also performed with Diane Reeves and the Boston Pops Orchestra.
