Ronnie L. Tharp, 62, of Goshen, Ind., passed away at 11:47 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
He was born Feb. 23, 1952, in Goshen to Thomas William and Marie (Tennant) Tharp.
A Goshen resident since 2009, he was formerly of Warsaw and North Manchester, Ind.
He was a 1970 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He was employed by Dexter Axle of Elkhart, Ind., as an engineer with 29 years of service. He loved to go for long drives, spend time with his family, children and grandchildren, and looked at the Dexter employees as part of his family.
Survivors include a daughter: Alicia (Travis) Coday, Syracuse, Ind.; a son: Thaddeus Tharp, Warsaw, Ind.; a sister: Sharon (Phil) Byrer, Atwood, Ind.; brothers: Paul (Deb) Tharp, Glen (Peg) Tharp and Jim (Karen) Tharp, all of Warsaw; and Bob (Elizabeth) Tharp, Etna Green, Ind.; and grandchildren: Olivia, Zach, Macie, Carter, Bryce, Brody, Brock, Sophie and Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the funeral dhapel with Pastor Dick Sievers officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw.
