Beth D. Stephens, 76, of Mentone, Ind., passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
On Aug. 2, 1937, she was born in Raven, Ky., to Canton and Susanna (Jacobs) Combs. She was united in marriage to Talmadge Stephens on March 19, 1955, in Manton, Ky. He preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2004.
Beth was employed with Dalton Foundry in Warsaw from 1972 to 1988. She also took care of Palestine Cemetery for 20 years.
Beth was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Claypool, Ind., and she enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers and she also loved canning from her garden. She also loved birds and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons: Canton (Connie) Stephens, Mentone, Ind.; and Kim (Amy) Stephens, Pierceton, Ind.; two daughters: Karen (James) Zimmerman, Mentone; and Leslie (Jose) Reyes, Mentone; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five step grandchildren.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband; and two grandsons: Donald Jacob Stephens and Chely Lee Reyes.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, in the funerla home with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
