William T. “Bill” Deerwester, 77, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 2 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Warsaw.
He was born March 23, 1937, to Clarence and Florence (Tusing) Deerwester in Warsaw. He was a lifetime residence of Kosciusko County.
He was united in marriage to Katherine Rule on April 6, 1958, in Warsaw. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from November 1955 to October 1957. Bill retired from Zimmer Inc. as a lab technician. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America, Boy Scouts of Canada and the Warsaw American Legion Post 49.
Bill is survived by his wife: Katherine Deerwester, Warsaw; sons: David (Renata) Deerwester, Columbia City, Ind.; and Dan (Janette Turney) Deerwester, Warsaw; grandchilden: Denise Northern, Warsaw; Phil (Lydia) Deerwester, Philadelphia, Pa.; Stephanie Deerwester, Watertown, Md.; Andrea (Alex) Baldwin, Ossian, Ind.; Brandon Deerwester, Warsaw; Paul Turney and Cory Turney, both of Lakemoor, Ill.; and great-grandchildren: Parker Northern and Dalton Baldwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, Warsaw, at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, with military honors by the American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 1126, both of Warsaw, and the Military Funeral Honor Guard. No calling is planned. Burial has taken place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
