Melissa Sue Cupp, 44, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:33 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, in her home of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 16, 1969, in Warsaw to John and Bonnie (Hamilton) Prater. She was a lifetime Kosciusko County, Ind., resident and was an RN working in hospitals and nursing homes.
She was a 1988 graduate of Whitko High School where she held numerous track and field records. She continued her education in nursing school to become a Registered Nurse and worked in hospitals and nursing homes.
She loved to be around friends and family, she was always giving and doing anything for anyone she could.
She is survived by her parents: John and Bonnie Prater, Warsaw; a son: Brandon Hurley, Pierceton, Ind.; step sons: Jeremy Hurley, Tuscola, Ill.; Joseph Hurley, Warsaw; and Alexander Hurley, Warsaw; brothers: Eric Prater, Centerville, Mo.; Peter Peconga, Warsaw; Adam Prater, Burket, Ind.; and Jonathan Prater, Philippines; her best friend and caretaker: Sharon McCarty, Pierceton; and her life partner and best friend: Larry Yates, Pierceton.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Joe Prater.
No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to Southern Care & Hospice.
