Janet Louise Dawson, 67, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Manor Care Health Care and Rehab in Anderson, Ind.
She was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Warsaw, to Harold S. and Mabel Pauline (Luse) Hite. On Dec. 28, 1964, she married James R. Dawson in Silver Lake, Ind.
She was a lifetime Warsaw resident and worked at K-Mart as a cashier for 8 years. Janet attended Salvation Army as a little girl and then the rest of her life, attended Pentecostal Lighthouse, American Legion Auxiliary in Warsaw.
She is survived by her husband: James R. Dawson, Warsaw; a son: James H. Dawson, Warsaw; a daughter: Rebecca P. (Becky) Lowe, Warsaw; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley (Boyd) Poe, Akron, Ind.; and Joyce Tran, Mentone, Ind.; and a brother: Robert Hite, Plymouth, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her father: Harold S. Hite; her mother: Mabel Pauline (Luse) Hite; and a brother: Leroy Hite.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Glen Hughes of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial is to be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
