Valerie Elaine Cruz, 77, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Mason Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

She was born Dec. 13, 1936, to Merritt and Stella (Kimbro) Boman in Detroit, Mich.

She has been a resident of Kosciusko County for 25 years.

Valerie enjoyed painting ceramics, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four daughters: Robin L. (Brian) Snyder, Warsaw; Kim Marchadis, North Carolina; Ronda K. Hill, Highland, Ind.; and Dina Cruz, Warsaw; two sons: James W. Hill, North Dakota; and Ray M. Cruz III, Warsaw; a brother: Gerald Boman, Peoria, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No services were held. A memorial service is planned for from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at North Webster Church of God. Friends and family are asked to attend.
