North Webster Public Library Announcements

Do you have unpaid fines for overdue North Webster Public Library materials? Now is the chance to redeem those fines and help out the North Webster Food Pantry at the same time.
From Dec. 16 through Dec. 21, the library will be taking food donations for fines. For every non-perishable food item donated, $1 will be taken off of a fine. Be sure to check the expiration dates, because expired food items cannot be accepted. Neither can dented cans or damaged packages.
The Food for Fines program applies only to North Webster Library card holders for materials borrowed from NWPL and does not count toward lost, damaged or unreturned items. So get your fines forgiven while helping needy families in the community.
Another way to help those in need is by bringing a non-perishable food item to the library’s Magic of Christmas Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, in the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall. The library will be collecting food products at the door to be donated to the North Webster Food Pantry.
Local school teacher Matt Pulley and his wife, Ashley, will provide musical entertainment that evening, along with Celtic music by The Living Word and a performance by the North Webster Daycare. Old fashion Carol singing, a Readers Theatre performed by the library staff and a children’s Christmas story reading by Youth Services Librarian Mrs. Pam will round out the entertainment while guests enjoy delectable desserts by The Cake Lady. The winner of Book Bingo will be announced, plus everyone has a chance to win door prizes. You don’t have to be a North Webster Library card holder to attend this free holiday evening. Everyone is invited.
Christmas preparations mean presents to wrap. During Teen Time at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, teens in grades 6-12 are invited to bring gifts to wrap or empty boxes and learn how to make their own wrapping paper while discovering Christmas traditions from around the world. Wrapping supplies will be provided along with Christmas cookies and milk.
A Christmas wish will be the topic for Writer’s Corner at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16. R.E.A.D. Book Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, to discuss Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard. Due to Christmas Eve, Revolving Recipe Round-Up will meet a week early at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. Feliz Navidad will be the focus as the group brings Mexican dishes to share.
Need some holiday craft ideas or new recipes for your Christmas dinner? Stop by the library and check out our collection of books on crafts and cookbooks. While in the library, be sure to see the December art exhibit by Bill Jensen of Granger.
