Mason Powers Triton To Victory

images copyBOURBON – Kylie Mason had a superb all-around performance Monday night to lead her Triton girls basketball team to a victory.

Mason netted a game-high 19 points as the host Trojans topped Bethany Christian 55-39 in non-conference action.

Mason connected on 5-10 attempts from 3-point range for the Trojans. The talented guard also had eight assists and six steals in the win.

Lauren Howstrawser had 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the winners. Hannah Jennings scored eight points and Taylor Hatfield added six for coach Adam Heckaman’s squad.

Triton led 13-7 after the opening quarter and 26-13 at halftime. The Trojans connected on 21-43 shots from the field, including making 7-13 on 3-point tries.

Hanna Hochstetler scored 17 points and Marie Bontrager added nine to lead Bethany Christian.

Triton, now 3-2, plays at Knox Saturday. Bethany Christian, which drops to 3-3, hosts Prairie Heights Friday.
