Mary Leake, 82, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1931, to F.B. and Gladys (Yenor) Light in Warsaw.
Mary was united in marriage to F.D. “Mouse” Leake in October 1951. She retired from Sun Metal after 50 years and she also retired from Explorer Van Conversion in 2006 both of Warsaw. She was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw. She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary Post #49, Warsaw. She was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge # 802 B.P.OE., Warsaw.
Mary is survived by her daughter: Jan (Ted) Carter, Leesburg, Ind.; sons: Kim (Linda) Leake, Sholow, Ariz.; and Rodney A. Leake, Pierceton, Ind.; sisters: Mert Helton and Kate Jones, both of Warsaw; a sister-in- law: Martha Light, Warsaw; grandchildren: Shoshanah Earle, Derrick Leake, Larabeth Ryan, Amelia Leake, Ethan Leake and Austin Leake; and great-grandchildren: Ian, Taliah and Jayden Leake.
She was preceded in death by her husband: F.D. “Mouse” Leake; sisters: Geraldine Foles and Ginny Davis; and a brother: Don Light.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Reverend Corinne Hodges will officiate the service. There will be a private Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
