Dennis Randall Pitts, 54, of Wabash, Ind., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 3:41 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was a 1977 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, then served in the U.S. Army and honorably discharged in 1981.
He was born July 4, 1959, in Chicago, Ill., to Pinkney Joseph Pitts and Lois Marian (Corell) Pitts. On May 22, 2009, he was married to Regina Ann Haynes, who survives in Wabash.
Also surviving are three step-sons: Daniel Somerlot, Wabash; Philip (Ashley) Somerlot, Pickens, S.C.; Jonathan Somerlot, Wabash; step-daughter: Emily Somerlot, Wabash; two step-grandchildren: P.J. and Alyssa; and his brother: Dr. Gary (Beverly) Pitts, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Joseph Allen. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
