WESTFIELD – The Shamrocks lived up to their lofty billing Friday night.
Top-ranked Westfield crushed Concord 35-3 in the Class 3-A Northern Semistate high school football playoff game.
The Shamrocks, now 12-1, advance to play Indianapolis Cathedral for the Class 5-A state championship Nov. 29 at 7:05 p.m. in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Westfield led 14-3 after the opening period Friday night. The Shamrocks led 28-3 at halftime.
Concord, which won the Northern Lakes Conference title and finishes at 10-3, managed just a 30 yard field goal by Ryan Tepe.
Elvin Caldwell had 19 carries for 142 yards with touchdowns runs of four, three and six yards to lead Westfield.
Quarterback Nick Ferrer was 13-16 passing for 162 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown toss. Ferrer also added a one-yard touchdown run in the win.
Westfield out gained the Minutemen 325-194 in total yards.
Jackson Marlow had 13 carries for 66 yards on the ground for Concord. Trevor Wilmore was 12-30 passing for 101 yards with one interception for the Minutemen. Adam Glanders had four receptions for 61 yards.
