The National Weather Service today says two tornadoes struck Kosciusko County Sunday causing damages near Silver Lake and in The Pines residential neighborhood in Warsaw.

The EF-2 tornado wreaked havoc along a 4-mile stretch of Kosciusko County along SR 15 and 3 miles east of Silver Lake Sunday afternoon. The second tornado, today ruled an EF-1, hit The Pines shortly after breaking off trees which caused damage to homes and vehicles and took down utility poles and power lines. (See related)

Sunday’s storms spawned a total of 14 tornadoes in Indiana. Among the hardest hit areas was Kokomo where two EF-2 tornadoes were recorded. One of those stretched along a 10-mile path flattening homes and businesses.
