Mary Lou Burkholder, 77, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 9:05 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 21, 1936, to George L. and Lois “Babe” (Neff) Burkholder in Warsaw.
She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She was a caregiver for the elderly and before that she was a manager for Greyhound, Western Union and Yellow Cab Company for many years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order Eagle Lodge, Warsaw.
Mary Lou enjoyed playing bingo, crafts and knitting.
She is survived by a son: Roger (Madeline) Burkholder, Warsaw; a daughter: Gina (Frank) Bono, Denver Colo.; sisters: Sharon (Kenneth) Baugher and Barbara (Charles) Sleeth, both of Warsaw; a brother: Owen Burkholder, Warsaw; grandchildren: Anthony, Gianna and Sophie Burkholder, Alexia and Austin Bono; eight nieces and one nephew and 18 great-nieces and nephews who called her “Lulu.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother: Charles “Chuck” Burkholder.
There will be a celebration of Mary’s life from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 28, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw
