Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bettis of Weatherford, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Bettis, of Los Angeles, Calif., to Matthew VanCuren of Los Angeles, Calif. He is the son of Barbara VanCuren, Warsaw, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne VanCuren, Syracuse, Ind.

Amy is a writer’s assistant for the TV show “Beauty and the Beast.” Matthew works for Entertainment Partners. They will be married Nov. 23 in La Canada, Calif.
