Kristine M. ‘Kris’ Jaskutis, 51, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 1:53 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1962, in Hammond, Ind., to Robert L. and Marlene S. (Rumbut) McMahan. She grew up in Hammond, Ind., attended Morton High School in Hammond
She was employed at Millennium Industries in Ligonier, Ind., for 4 years. She formerly worked at Gulf Stream RV in Nappanee for several years and Inland Steel in East Chicago, Ill. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1999 from Hammond. She formerly attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hammond.
She is survived by three daughters: Charity Jaskutis, Darien, Ill; Cheryl Deeds, Syracuse; Carrie (Aaron Campbell) Jaskutis, Kimmel, Ind.; three grandchildren; her mother; four sisters: Gayle (Pierre) Vuletic, Hammond; Karen (Andy Kras) Newman, Cedar Lake, Ind.; Heather (Carlos) Guerra, Hammond; Ruth (Anthony) Bilbo, Dyer, Ind. four brothers: Michael (Thao) McMahan, Las Vegas, Nev.; Kevin (Linda) McMahan, Las Vegas; John McMahan, Syracuse; James McMahan, Hammond.
She was preceded in death by her father and former husband: Vitautas ‘Veto’ Jaskutis.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
