Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Wednesday, Nov. 13, 7:35 a.m. West Center and North Columbia streets. Drivers: Sandra Arevalo De Gomez, 43, Oak Glen Drive, Warsaw; and John R. White, 50, Stone Camp Trail, Winona Lake. Both drivers stopped at the intersection, but Arevalo De Gomez failed to see White’s vehicle enter the intersection before her and collided. Damages: up to $5,000

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 3:46 p.m. 1701 E. Center St. Driver: John A. Mayer, 64, Parker Street, Warsaw. Mayer told police he stepped on the accelerator inside of the brake and drove through the front window of Ace Hardware. A witness said Mayer pulled in and looked like he was going to park, but accelerated into the building. Mayer refused a certified chemical test and was arrested. A search warrant was obtained and blood test results are pending. Mayer was treated at the scene by Multi-Township EMS for minor lacerations to the hand. Damages: up to $25,000

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 11:29 a.m. East Center and North Colfax streets. Drivers: Savanah M. Ryan, 52, North Colfax Street, Warsaw; and Tisha L. Roberts, 21, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Ryan pulled into the path of Robert’s vehicle. Roberts complained of an abdominal/pelvis injury. Damages: up to $25,000

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 11:29 p.m. North 1000 East and East 1350 North, Syracuse. Driver: Kristine M. Jaskutis, 50, Hiawatha Drive, Syracuse. Jaskutis was southbound on 1000 East and drove off the east side of the road into a ditch. She was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition with chest and internal injuries. Damages: up to $100,000.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 11:25 p.m. East Pierceton Road and South 350 East, Warsaw. Driver: Janet L. Dome, 37, East 850 South, Claypool. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6:37 p.m. East U.S. 30 and South 250 East, Warsaw. Driver: Ricardo J. Scarlett, 27, South High Street, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000
