Lily Mae Hurd, 82, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.

She was born Jan. 11, 1932, in Bonanza, Ky., to Henry and Rushie (Robinson) Yates. She married Johnie Hurd on Oct. 6, 1947, in North Manchester, Ind.

She was a resident of Grace Village Nursing Home in Winona Lake, Ind., at the time of her passing.

Hurd was a jogger for R.R. Donnelley for 10 years and a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses

She is survived by a son: Dannie (Amy) Hurd, Warsaw, Ind.; two daughters: Regina (Don) Ervin, Warsaw; and Wanda Hurd, Rochester, Ind.; a sister: Hazel McFarren, Angola, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Johnie Hurd; a brother: Homer Yates; and two sisters: Hester Abbott and Ruby Yates.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Warsaw. Brother Mike Longenecker will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Lily’s memory.
