
VALPARAISO – Clay Yeo is set to get some TV time Wednesday night.
The former Triton High School basketball star, now a freshman at Valparaiso University, will play at Illinois Wednesday.
The game, which tips-off at 7:30 p.m. ET, will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
Yeo, a 6-4 guard, is off to a solid start for coach Bryce Drew’s Valpo squad. He had 15 points and a team-high five assists Sunday in a 113-50 home win over North Park. Yeo made his collegiate debut Friday night with five points, three rebounds and three assists in a 77-74 home win over Murray State.
Yeo led coach Jason Groves’ Triton squad to a 20-6 mark last season and a Class 1-A state runner-up finish. He scored 26 points in a 55-50 loss to Borden in the state title game.
Yeo helped the Trojans go 85-19 during his prep career with four Northern State Conference championships to go with four sectional titles and two regional and semi state crowns. Triton was also the Class 1-A state runner-up in 2011.
Yeo, who was an Indiana All-Star this past summer, finished his career as the top scorer in Marshall County history with 1,992 points. He also holds school records for points in a game (44) and season (675).
