Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, Nov. 10, 8:09 p.m. 300 South near County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Donald C. Thompson, 39, 950 South, Silver Lake. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, Nov. 10, 7:38 p.m. 300 East near 1200 South, Silver Lake. Driver: Kevin W. Shemwell, 35, Erie Street, Wabash. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 6:51 p.m. SR 15 near Church Street, Leesburg. Drivers: unknown; Jared S. Wilson, 29, Brunswick Drive, Goshen. Wilson collided with a car that was backing out of a driveway. Wilson proceeded to a friend’s house to report the accident. Driver and vehicle backing out of the driveway have not been located at this time. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 6:20 p.m. 1000 North near Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. Driver: Kimberly S. Minnick, 49, Holiday Lane, Cromwell. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $1,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 5:57 p.m. Packerton Road near SR 14, Silver Lake. Driver: Jonathan D. Clark, 39, Walnut Street, North Manchester. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 3:45 p.m. SR 15 near Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Grant M. Carlson, 18, Western Driver, Winona Lake. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 3:43 p.m. 800 West near 300 North, Warsaw. Driver: Florence R. Starkey, 27, Center Street, Warsaw. Starkey, who stated she has recently been experiencing severe headaches, blacked out at the wheel and rolled her car into a ditch. Starkey was treated for a broken leg. Her three-year-old daughter, who was also in the car, appeared to have no injuries. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 1:01 p.m. SR 25 near 250 South, Warsaw. Driver: Chuck Lisenbee, 52, Prairie Street, Warsaw. A tire on Lisenbee’s vehicle blew out causing him to veer off the road. He was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital after complaining of chest and neck pain. Damages: up to $5,000
Sunday, Nov. 10, 5:16 a.m. 450 West near 525 South, Warsaw. Driver: Melanie S. Rohrer, 45, 600 South, Claypool. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Nov. 9, 11:08 p.m. Crystal Lake Road near 650 West, Warsaw. Driver: Robin B. Groom, 41, 950 West, Mentone. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Nov. 9, 9:00 p.m. 700 West near 900 South, Claypool. Drivers: Unknown; Milford E. Stephens. Stephens was attempting to pass another vehicle. That vehicle drifted over the center line and struck Stephens vehicle. Stephens thought the other driver was intentionally trying to “ram” him, so, concerned for his safety, he proceeded to a location on Noah Street to report the crash.

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, Nov. 10, 8:14 p.m. Prosperity Drive near Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon J. Williams, 20, Portside Drive, Warsaw. Williams took a turn too fast and drove off the road. Paramedics were called to the scene to check on the driver’s mother, who was in the back seat at the time of the accident and was complaining of head pain. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, Nov. 9, 1:05 p.m. Lake City Highway near Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Louis J. Jones, 50, Clark Street, Warsaw; Whitney N. Shoemaker, 23, 300 North, Warsaw. Jones collided with Shoemaker.Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Nov. 8, 6:01 p.m. Detroit Street near Winona Ave, Warsaw. Drivers: Larry E. Needler, 66, 300 North, Warsaw; William P. Hoy, 62, Winona Ave, Warsaw; Teresa M. Spangle, 49, Winona Ave, Warsaw. Needler failed to stop at an active railroad crossing causing a collision with Hoy, who collided with Spangle. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Nov. 8, 5:39 p.m. Detroit Street near Poor Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Susan Sorg Lance, 59, 300 South, Waraw. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Nov. 8, 5:33 p.m. 100 North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Karla K. Hoskins, 64, Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Hoskins collided with a parked vehicle in a parking lote\. Damages: up to $1,000
Friday, Nov. 8, 4:02 p.m. 2302 East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Donna L. Shireman, 49, 325 East, Warsaw; Lucas J. Wilhelm, 31, Marshall Street, Argos. Shireman backed into Wilhelm’s truck. Damages: up to $2,500
