Green, Robert - obit picRobert F. Green, 70, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, March, 6, 2014, in his home.

He was born July 3, 1943, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Paul Green and Georgene Wallen. He lived for many years in Milford, Ind., before moving to Syracuse two years ago

Robert served with the United States Army and the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a mechanic. He retired July 3, 2003 and had worked as a self employed truck driver retiring in 1996.

He was a  member of the Syracuse VFW, enjoyed racing stock cars in his younger years; enjoyed golf and participated in league bowling. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan, loved to fish and his faith was important to him. He attended Warsaw Community Church.

He is survived by a son: Robert (Brandi) Green, North Webster, Ind.; a daughter: Robin (Earl) Beezley, Syracuse; two brothers: Daniel and Ronald Green; a sister: Kathy Green; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer of Warsaw Community Church. Burial is be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Milford, Ind. Military graveside honors will be by Syracuse VFW.
