Mildred Louise Eckert, 97, or Atwood, Ind., passed away at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Betz Nursing Home, Auburn, Ind.

He was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Otis and Mary (Cartwright) Albertson. In 1935, he graduated from Atwood High School in Atwood.

On April 19, 1935, she married Edward T. Eckert. She lived most of her life in Atwood and Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a homemaker and attended New Beginnings Church in Atwood.

Mildred is survived by a son: Larry L. Eckert, Auburn, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward T. Eckert; and two sons: Ron and Dennis Eckert.

No visitation is planned. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Harrison Center Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Church.
